In addition to our permanent members of staff we may have up to three junior doctors or registrars attached to our practice. These doctors are with us from 4 to 6 months and this forms an important part of their training.
You may notice that these doctors need to discuss your case with a more senior doctor, and will from time to time video their surgery or have another doctor sit in on their surgery. This is all part of their training and the assessment process. You will be asked for your permission at all times if your consultation is being recorded or if another doctor will be sitting in.
We occasionally have medical student visit the practice as part of their training. You will always be asked permission to allow a medical student to sit in a consultation.
We also have physician associates, paramedics and pharmacists training at the practice from time to time. Your permission will always be sought before any of these are present during your consultation.
